Hebrew Hammers Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers had to overcome a good performance from Tokyo pitcher Afzul Chishti to claim a 2-1 win at The Holy Land. Chishti went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The first-place Hebrew Hammers have a one-game lead in their division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Jerusalem second baseman Han-wu Ku, facing Feheen MacKenrick, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Hebrew Hammers the 2-1 win.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Tokyo manager Tiljad Mwarania.
