Pilots Defeat Brisas, 2-1
|
The Sao Paulo Pilots and Buenos Aires Brisas put on a pitchers' duel.
The Sao Paulo Pilots, despite a fine performance by Buenos Aires pitcher Alapai Nalani, grabbed a 2-1 win in 10 innings at Estadio Rico. Nalani allowed 1 run over 6 innings. Brian Chappell finished the game for Sao Paulo and earned his 4th save.
Sao Paulo used the timely hitting of Chance Wilson to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pilots on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Wilson.
Buenos Aires is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
