Pearls Bridle Hebrew Hammers, 3-2
|
In a tight contest at Manama Fields, the Tokyo Pearls edged the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers by the score of 3-2. Tokyo right fielder Michael Buckley, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Derek Dyce earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Earning the save was Tye Whitford. He's now cashed in 1 of 3 save opportunities.
The Pearls got a big at-bat from shortstop Juan Solíz. For the game, Solíz went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Tokyo a 2-1 lead.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Buckley.
The win elevated the Pearls to 46-43.
