Louisville got a terrific game from catcher Dave Armstrong. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Madison, 8-7. Armstrong went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Takahiro Fujii was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Tim Redmon. Clint Thomas recorded the save, making him 26 for 31.

Madison took the lead, 8-7, on Ziad Abdul-Samad's 10th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Louisville pitcher Tim Redmon in the bottom of the eighth.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Abdul-Samad. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."

The slumping Sluggers have dropped 6 in a row.
