Wolves Handed 4-3 Loss by Black Sox
|
The Chicago Black Sox and Madison Wolves completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Chicago Black Sox downed the Madison Wolves, 4-3. The hitting star was second baseman Jeff Feagin. Feagin was 3-4 with 3 singles for the Black Sox. Chicago, at 91-70, sits in first place in the Frick League Heartland Division.
Had Dave Matthes not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Matthes hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Black Sox.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Feagin told the Chicago Times.
