The Mexico City Aztecs defeated the Calgary Pioneers, 7-4, at The Stockyard. Mexico City was led by two-time Sawyer Silk Sliver Slugger Trophy winner Wafid Bishr, who went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Mexico City reliever Johnny Lovell picked up the win, upping his record to 7-7. Ray Matthews was saddled with the loss. Sergio Tormes nailed down his 45th save.

Bishr had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Ray Matthews, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Aztecs a 6-4 lead. It was the 36th home run of the year for Bishr.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bishr told the Mexico City Today.

The losing streak for Calgary has now reached 4 games.
