Fighting Centaurs Snatch Late-Game, 5-4 Win
|
The Sao Paulo Pilots got a sterling performance from pitcher Amaka Zev, but the Athens Fighting Centaurs still prevailed, 5-4. Zev came in in relief and pitched to 23 batters. Getting the save was Max Dawe, his 11th. The win has Athens at 36-53.
Du Wu, who is tied for 9th in the GBC in home runs with 17, helped out the Athens cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4 with a double.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Wu.
