Behind the bravura of third baseman Jorge García, the Valencia Stars topped the Yellow Springs Nine by the score of 8-5. García was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Stars. Valencia reliever Dave Furman picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Cory McGuire absorbed the loss. Sam MacPherson was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Bernd Helwich came through with a big-time hit for Valencia. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 8-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
