Sao Paulo first baseman Katsunan Hashimoto had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Moscow at Ballpark of Bucharest. Hashimoto went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Thunder Bears have now won 7 straight.

Moscow designated hitter Rajko Lovre contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 79th hit of the season and put the Thunder Bears ahead, 8-4.

"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Thunder Bears manager Brencis Dashevsky.
