Hebrew Hammers Get One-Run Win at Moscow
|
In a low-scoring game between the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers and the Moscow Thunder Bears, pitcher Luke Seddon was masterful on the mound. The Jerusalem right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Philip Jeffes earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. Fernando Camacho, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Luis Chávez? The 27-year old right fielder Chávez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Jerusalem up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"That's baseball," said Moscow manager Brayden Bonaddio. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
The first-place Hebrew Hammers lifted their record to 68-39.
