|
The Athens Fighting Centaurs downed the Sydney Sharks, 6-2. The hitting star was designated hitter Haydar Ihsanoglu. Ihsanoglu went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Fighting Centaurs. Aaron Anderson notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 6-4. The Sharks have now dropped 5 straight.
There was more than one reason the Fighting Centaurs beat the Sharks, but Ihsanoglu's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Ihsanoglu told the Athens Gazette, "and we played pretty well tonight."
