Thunder Bears Deal Pearls 8-5 Loss
|
With left fielder Godofredo Chucha leading the charge, the Moscow Thunder Bears defeated the Tokyo Pearls, 8-5, at Manama Fields. Chucha, who finished 4th in the GBC in extra base hits with 66 last year, was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Picking up the save was Riyadi Subandrio. He's now 29 for 31 in save chances. The win boosted Moscow to 57-53.
Third Baseman Ryobe Watanabe made an impact for Moscow, when he swatted a 2-run double off Jacome Kretzchner in the top of the fourth. For the contest, Watanabe was 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Thunder Bears manager Brencis Dashevsky.
