Great Effort by Montazeri Wasted in 8-6 Pilots Loss
|
Sao Paulo left fielder Shamim Montazeri had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-6, to Buenos Aires at Ballpark of Bucharest. Montazeri belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The save went to José Núñez, number 19 for him. Buenos Aires has now won 4 in a row.
Buenos Aires won the game in part because of Sachdev Vajpeyi. The third baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Brisas ahead, 3-0. For the game, Vajpeyi had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Vajpeyi.
