Hebrew Hammers Win, 4-3, at Cairo
|
Jerusalem pitcher Reese Newsome did his part in helping his team beat the Cairo Pharaohs, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. With the win, Jerusalem pushed its record to 61-53.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jamal bin Majd? The Jerusalem left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hebrew Hammers on top, 4-0. For the game, bin Majd had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We ground out the win," said Newsome. "That's all that matters."
