Great Effort by Bigornia Wasted in 5-3 Hebrew Hammers Loss
|
The Tokyo Pearls withstood a fine game by Jerusalem center fielder Jaicus Bigornia at The Holy Land, to upend the Hebrew Hammers, 5-3. Bigornia went 3-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The first-place Pearls have won 6 straight games.
Reko Kelander came through with a big-time hit for Tokyo. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Kelander called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
