Moscow Defeated By Brisas, 5-1
|
The Buenos Aires Brisas beat the Moscow Thunder Bears, 5-1. Buenos Aires pitcher and Port-Alfred-Bagotville, Canada, native Glenn Hawkins led the way. Hawkins got the win, improving to 8-8. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The 4th-place Brisas sport a record of 52-62.
Davey McDonald had a big 2-run home run for the Brisas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Buenos Aires leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from Brick Pollitt, who is tied for 5th in the GBC in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Brisas on top, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said McDonald after the game.
