Sydney Tumbles Again, Falls, 8-6, to Jerusalem

The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers beat the Sydney Sharks by a score of 8-6. Jerusalem designated hitter Javier Manuel deserved the lion's share of the credit. Manuel was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Hebrew Hammers. Paris Zervakos, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The current losing streak for Sydney has reached 6 games.
Jerusalem used the timely hitting of Na'il Hisham to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hebrew Hammers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Sydney manager Jim Sánchez.
