Thanks in large part to designated hitter Patrick Strolz, the Cairo Pharaohs beat the Sydney Sharks, 7-6. Strolz went 2 for 4 with a triple, while adding 4 RBI. Cairo reliever Tim Cornett picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Ferede Keohi was saddled with the loss. Glenn Dennis earned the save for Cairo, his 9th of the year.

Cairo used the timely hitting of Curt Wiliams to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pharaohs ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Sydney manager Jim Sánchez. "The effort was great."

Cairo has an impressive 83-42 record.
