Sharks Get Past Tokyo, 5-4
|
The Sydney Sharks defeated the Tokyo Pearls in 11 innings, 5-4, in part because of designated hitter Gonzalo Morales. Morales slugged 2 home runs for the Sharks. The Sharks, at 53-74, sit in last place in the GBC AfSAmOc Division.
Morales had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 0-1 fastball from Rodney Keeley, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Sharks a 5-4 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Morales.
When asked about his performance after the game, Morales said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
