Monarchs Earn Win with Late Rally
Starting pitcher Mahmut Binark gave the London Monarchs a rock-solid effort. The Izmir, Turkey native helped his team defeat the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 3-2, at Piraeus Park. By defeating Athens, the third-place Monarchs improved to 67-61.

Howard Tanner had a direct impact on the outcome. Tanner contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put London up, 3-2.

"Mahmut had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said London manager Jack Gulliver.
