Win Makes Monarchs 68-62
|
London picked up a win at Piraeus Park, bumping off the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 3-1. Pitcher Rick Clarijs was a major reason the Monarchs emerged victorious. Ramón Ocampo picked up the save, his 14th. The victory gives the Monarchs a record of 68-62.
The Monarchs had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-1, London, with no one out. Athens, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Huo-tu Shaw dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he popped out.
