Pilots Top Pearls to Even Record
|
Manama Fields was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Sao Paulo Pilots and the Tokyo Pearls, Luca Maundrell, who is tied for 6th in the GBC in complete games with 1, was the difference-maker. The Sao Paulo left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Earning the save was Bryan Hall. He's now cashed in 11 of 12 save opportunities.
Sao Paulo won the game in part because of Amin Asim. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Pilots ahead, 1-0. For the game, Asim had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Asim called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
At 67-67, the Pilots claim second place in the GBC AfSAmOc Division.
