Nine Topple Stars with Late Rally
The Yellow Springs Nine faced a tough opponent in Valencia pitcher Gerardo Rea, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Utopia Field by a final score of 9-3. Rea went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. At 41-40, the Nine are currently 6th in the Frick League Heartland Division.

Roberto Gabriel, who is on pace to hit 42 home runs this season, took Valencia hurler Alphonse Lease deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Nine on top, 5-3. In all, Gabriel had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
