Benefiting from Bob McPherson's productive game, the Sydney Sharks downed the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 5-3. McPherson went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Sharks. Sydney pitcher Ming Zhang earned the win, hiking his record to 8-0. Romain Cormier suffered the loss. The second-place Sharks improved to 76-62.

With Sydney leading 2-1 in the top of the third, McPherson hit a run-scoring single off Athens hurler Romain Cormier. It was the 78th hit of the season for McPherson and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said McPherson.
