Bears Take Tight Tangle
The San Fernando Bears got their 2062 season off and running with a win over the Bikini Krill at Chico's Bail Bonds Field. The final score was 4-3. San Fernando pitcher Morgan Tomsett, in particular, had a fine performance. San Fernando reliever Bryan Longstaff was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Enrique Villarreal.

The decisive blow was delivered by Augusto Annis in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Enrique Villarreal to win the game for San Fernando. The home crowd went nuts.

After the game, San Fernando manager Gonzalo Escobar applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
