Gold Rally to Win, 5-4
|
The Johannesburg Gold picked up a win at Ballpark of Bucharest, dropping the Sao Paulo Pilots, 5-4, in 11 innings. Stephen Clulow, Jr., who signed a 2-year contract worth $3,500,000 on 06/03/2064, was the difference-maker. With this game in the books, Johannesburg is 76-65, Sao Paulo 75-67.
Though he did not get the decision, Clulow, Jr. did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 7 innings, until Johannesburg eventually rallied past the Pilots.
"Stephen did a good job keeping the game under control," said Johannesburg manager Alberto Sánchez.
