In a high-scoring contest between Sydney and Sao Paulo, center fielder Ben Taylor was a difference-maker. Taylor, who is tied for 4th in the GBC ASAO in runs scored with 90, distinguished himself in the 14-11 Sydney win. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Sydney reliever Dani Martínez picked up the win, while Vic Ayliffe took the loss for Sao Paulo. Sydney is now 79-64, Sao Paulo 76-68.

The Sharks got a big hit from designated hitter Aurelio García. Facing Sao Paulo pitcher Vic Ayliffe in the bottom of the fifth, García pounded a 2-run double to center. His 20th double of the season put the Sharks ahead, 8-6.

"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Sydney manager Jim Sánchez. "I promise you I'm not happy."
