Gold Snatch Late Win
|
Johannesburg picked up a win at Golden Palace, bumping off the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers, 3-2. Pitcher Max Dawe was a major reason the Gold emerged victorious. Johannesburg reliever Ishtaq Dar picked up the win, upping his record to 7-0. Philip Jeffes took the loss. With the win, the Gold improved to 78-67.
César Román, who is tied for 8th in the GBC ASAO in hits with 150, helped out the Johannesburg cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 3.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Dawe.
