Thunder Bears Hand Athens 3-1 Loss
|
The Moscow Thunder Bears locked up a win at Bears Den, knocking off the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 3-1. On the mound for Moscow was left-hander Idhma Rajamani. He played a major role in the triumph. Rajamani picked up the win for Moscow, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 10-6. Moscow is now 83-70.
The Thunder Bears got a big hit from designated hitter Osmo Tarnawska. Facing Athens pitcher Carlos Martínez in the bottom of the fifth, Tarnawska pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 17th home run of the season put the Thunder Bears ahead, 2-0.
"I felt good out of the gates," said Rajamani.
