The Twin Cities River Monsters topped the Portland Lumberjacks, 8-5, with catcher Carlos Marcillas playing a big role. Marcillas was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times for the River Monsters in the win. Picking up the save was two-time All-Star Peter Fuller. With the win, Twin Cities pushed its record to 51-30.

Randall Gray had a big bases-clearing double for the River Monsters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Twin Cities trailing 4-2 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from former first round draft pick John O'Leary and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the River Monsters ahead, 5-4.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Twin Cities manager Gerald Brandt.
