Rhinos Held Hitless by Cochrane
The Lagos Wreckers were just hoping for a solid outing from John Cochrane. Instead, they got something special.

The 31-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Pretoria Rhinos, helping the Wreckers take the 11-0 win.

"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Wreckers. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."

Cochrane's repertoire has a slider, changeup, fastball, and sinker, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Pretoria hitters off balance all game long. The Lagos hurler fanned 6 and walked 0 in his history-making performance.

"His slider looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Pretoria manager Jerry Murphy joked after the game.

This season, Cochrane has a 4-0 record with a 1.42 ERA.
