The San Fernando Bears picked up a win at Chico's Bail Bonds Field, knocking off the Chicago Black Sox, 5-3. Starting pitcher Morris Chapa played a key role in the triumph. The win gives San Fernando a season record of 45-43.
Yuu Suzuki, who led the FL in hits with 225 in 2057, chipped in a 2-run home run for San Fernando in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Morris gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said San Fernando manager Gonzalo Escobar.
