The Long Beach Surfers pinned a convincing loss on the Yellow Springs Nine, 9-2, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. Elvan Masûkî was a main factor in the win. He was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Long Beach. Long Beach pitcher Seth Nagaswamy got the win. He's now 2-2. Ollie Lowry was tagged with the loss. The Surfers raised their record to 32-57.

The Nine had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Surfers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Emílio Reyes came to the plate. Reyes hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 changeup from Yellow Springs hurler Ollie Lowry. It was Reyes's 5th home run of the year.

Long Beach manager Mike Ellis commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
