Shed Stars for River Monsters in 7-1 Win
|
The 4-hit performance of Miller Shed, who finished 5th in the FL in hits with 187 in 2060, helped the Twin Cities River Monsters beat the Portland Lumberjacks, 7-1. Jerry Stone earned the win to go to 8-5. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Andrés Gonzáles got credit for the save for Twin Cities. It was his 8th of the year.
In the first inning, Shed had a solo home run for Twin Cities. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the River Monsters on top, 1-0.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Shed told the Twin Cities Daily News.
Twin Cities currently is in 4th place in the Frick League Heartland Division at 50-40.
