Twin Cities beat Long Beach in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Twin Cities River Monsters beat the Long Beach Surfers, 9-4, at Land O' Lakes Ballpark. Twin Cities designated hitter Mathew Malone had the hot bat. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Will Ritter, the winner, is now 8-5. He struck out 4 and walked 0 over 6 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 8 hits.

With Twin Cities leading 3-2 in the bottom of the second, Malone hit a fastball from Bob Johnson for a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the River Monsters ahead, 6-2.
