Mounties Get Extra-Inning, 5-4 Win
Despite a fine performance by catcher Dave Armstrong, the Louisville Sluggers lost to the Vancouver Mounties, 5-4, in 13 innings. Armstrong was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Geoffrey Greening earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Ray Matthews collected his 2nd save.

Leonardo Rodríguez came through with a big-time hit for Vancouver. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Louisville manager Bernardo Herrera.

The last-place Mounties hiked their record to 39-54.
