Boise beat Montreal on the strength of starting pitcher Mahad Einan's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-1. Einan, now 9-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Spuds, at 46-48, sit in 5th place in the Johnson League Frontier Division.

Boise used a clutch at-bat from Bill O'Toole to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Spuds ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Einan.
