Sluggers Take 10-1 Pounding
The Sacramento Mad Popes and starting pitcher Mario Reyes stifled the Louisville offense en route to a comfortable 10-1 win at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. Jeff Locke, who finished 5th in the FL in saves with 28 in 2060, earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 6-7. The Mad Popes move to 52-42 with the win, while the Sluggers drop to 51-43.

Had Badr Isam not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Isam hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Mad Popes.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Louisville skipper Bernardo Herrera.
