Everything clicked on the hill for Yue-jiu Lai, as he hurled the Shanghai Catbirds to a shutout win, 12-0, over the Hokkaido Huskies, limiting them to 3 hits while recording 8 strikeouts and yielding no walks. He overpowered some batters with fastballs and buckled knees with sharp breaking pitches.

"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," Huskies manager Javier Francisco said. "We just weren't able to get to him."
