Soggy conditions did not keep Jacksonville and San Antonio from playing their scheduled game.

No one was more impactful than Steve Holcombe in the 5-1 Jacksonville win over San Antonio. Holcombe, who finished 4th in the JL in home runs with 40 in 2060, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Gallegos. He tossed 99 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits.

With Jacksonville leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Holcombe hit a run-scoring single off San Antonio hurler Dave Horton. It was the 73rd hit of the season for Holcombe and put his team ahead, 3-1.

Said losing manager Johnnie Oh: "Give the Zombies credit. They played a better game than we did."
