The Long Beach Surfers downed the Brook Park Brownies, 8-6, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. Juan Simpson led the way, going 3-for-5 for Long Beach. Siua Hooheno, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The win puts Long Beach at 39-59.

Guillermo Espinoza helped out the Long Beach cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Espinoza.
