Hebrew Hammers Lose, 6-3, at Manama Fields
|
Behind the bravura of first baseman Jules Le Gal, the Tokyo Pearls topped the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers by the score of 6-3. Le Gal went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pearls. The winner in relief was Eugênio Velosa. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 9-2. Jacome Kretzchner sewed up the save, his 4th.
Tristan Lloyd drew 1 walk for Tokyo. The 32-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Warren Dawson. It was his 63rd walk of the season.
Lloyd attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
The Pearls now own a record of 98-58.
