Charlotte registered a win at Family Dollar Field by beating the Boise Spuds, 5-1. Pitcher Brody Picot was one reason why the Flyers triumphed. Picot got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Boise is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

The Flyers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jorge Trujillo. For the game, Trujillo was 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 29th double of the season gave Charlotte a 2-1 lead.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Boise manager Mario Contreras.
