Alomar Smacks 5 Hits for Fighting Swedes
|
Wilmington right fielder Adam Alomar could do no wrong in his team's 14-5 win over the Talons, as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Talons skipper Juan Collazo said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Alomar agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Adam Alomar hit a solo-shot off Kyle McKinlay in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Marc Vaughn in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
To date Alomar has chalked up a .336 average with 15 home runs, driven in 56 runs and scored 83 times.
