Valencia Stars starter Dana Pualani turned in a sparkling performance against the Bikini Krill, leading his team to a 3-2 win. The winner was Pualani. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Paul Worboys. Dave Furman recorded the save, his 21st.

Tim Bartlett had a big run-scoring double for the Stars in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Valencia leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Paul Worboys, who is tied for 3rd in the FL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 3-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Valencia manager Roberto Solís.

The 'W' lifts Valencia's record to 39-69.
