Chew Befuddles Lynchburg in 1-0 Anchorage Win
|
In an outstanding mound performance, Anchorage Polar Bears starter Zhi-huan Chew fired a complete-game shutout against the Lynchburg Whiskeyjacks at Jack Daniels Field.
Chew was the key to the 1-0 Anchorage win. The 17-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 5 hits and 3 walks he allowed.
"5 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
This season, Chew has compiled a 3-5 mark, 2.93 ERA and made 11 starts.
