The Cayucos Surf did little to support starter Juan Lima against the Elkins Buzzards, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Buzzards, striking out 8 and surrendering 8 hits. The performance from Lima allowed Cayucos to escape with the 3-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Juan, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Lima told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

In 14 starts this year, Lima has crafted a 8-4 record and a 2.80 ERA.
