Sharks Beat Tokyo, 4-3
|
Tokyo got a terrific performance from pitcher Afzul Chishti, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sydney Sharks. Sydney won the Blacktown International Sportspark contest, 4-3. Chishti threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Sydney is now 66-90, while Tokyo is 90-66.
Sydney got a knockout punch from Howard Walsh. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Walsh.
