Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Austin Shredders and Mexico City Aztecs.

Austin Shredders starter Wilson López pitched his team past the Mexico City Aztecs, 3-2, in 10 innings. The save was credited to Edward Joseph Pfeffer, his 6th.

Austin used the timely hitting of Brent Gilbert to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Shredders on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Mexico City manager Markus O'Byrne. "We just didn't cash in."

By defeating Mexico City, the 4th-place Shredders improved to 53-57.
