Led by Brent Gilbert, the Austin Shredders downed the Phoenix Talons, 7-4, in 11 innings. Gilbert went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Shredders. Austin reliever Juan Cruz snagged the win, upping his record to 5-10. Javier Orduño shouldered the loss. The Shredders improved their record to 42-69 with the win over Phoenix.

Gilbert delivered in the clutch for Austin. In the bottom of the 11th, he took a 0-1 fastball from Phoenix pitcher Manuel Parra and parked it over the fence. The 3-run home run won it for Austin.

"He who laughs last laughs best," Gilbert said, postgame.
